Family displaced following house fire in Laton, officials say

LATON, Calif. -- A family of 6 is now displaced after their home was engulfed in flames in Laton on Saturday morning.

Laton fire crews responded to a house fire on Castro near Tache Avenue shortly before 8 a.m.

Officials say the home is a total loss, but everyone inside was able to get out, and no injuries were reported.

The fire started in 2 cars outside the home and later spread to the home, but the cause is unknown.

The family told Action News that 3 people were inside the home during the fire and are thankful everyone is alive and safe.
